I am so glad Christmas is a once a year thing. I am exhausted. Christmas day we ended up stay at home. Eat kid got 3 gifts, a bedding set, pajamas, and books. They love their beds, but I think they were a little dissapointed. Buddy came over for dinner though. (London broil with shrimp! Yum!)
Yesterday we went to Shenandoah. The kids got lots of craft stuff and clothes, and another yummy dinner. I had the scare of a lifetime though! We are dogsitting for
madamemama and while I was walking him (Miles), on the leash, my MILs large, territorial, history of biting dog broke him metal chain and came after Miles. I started screaming "help!!" at the top of my lungs, but no one heard. Miles wiggled out of his collar and MIL's dog was on top of him. I started hitting MIL's dog with the leash and collar. (*note* MIL's dog has a very thick coat since he's an outside dog. I was not worried about hurting him at all. I doubt I could hurt him if I wanted to!) All I was orried about was getting him off of Miles. Finally my MIL heard me and came out just as I finally grabbed her dogs's collar and started dragging him away. Miles went inside, without a scratch on him, and I dragged the big dog back to his pen. On the way back to the house I couldn't walk straight I was shaking so hard. I had a good cry in Chris's lap and eventually stopped. I'm so glad Miles was ok! I couldn't imagine having to tell
madamemama that I got her dog killed. :-/ I don't think my MIL realized how serious it was. They need to get rid of that dog. This is the 5th time he's broken his chain. Last time he actually bit another dog.
